This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week. Position hours are generally 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM.

This position is in the Operations and Facilities Management Department (OFMD). This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Essential Functions
The position is responsible for providing intermediary support to the Assistant Director by overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations for approximately 6 custodial supervisors and approximately 100 custodial personnel in order to provide a clean, high quality and safe environment for all School of Medicine personnel. This position also develops and implements procedures and standards for cleaning of approximately 2.3M BGSF and assists with custodial training, department processes and generating reports.
1. Provides intermediary support to the Assistant Director by overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations for approximately 6 custodial supervisors and on the second shift.
2. Prepares reports for expense and key performance indicators for custodial work for second shift. Develops processes for providing estimates and billing. Manages work orders and provides feedback to customers.
3. Performs audit inspections with supervisors for in house and contracted areas for custodial cleaning quality. Tracks the performance of contractors by developing and maintaining deficiencies report.
4. Plans projects for deep cleaning, stripping and waxing of floors. Schedules the work and coordinates with customer.
5. Refines and updates workload leveling and work routes for all custodians to ensure work is distributed according to internal custodial processes and standards.
6. Administers productivity programs and evaluates departmental efficiency in relation to established standards.
7. Develops processes to provide training and maintain equipment.
8. Researches technology, cleaning processes, chemicals and regulations to improve custodial and receiving operations and submits recommendations.
9. Assists with safety and sustainability initiatives.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Associate's degree or higher is required. 5 - 10 years of housekeeping experience at the managerial level in university, hospital or large corporate/industrial complex is required. Experience should include line responsibility for technical personnel and budget administration.
FMP certification will be expected within 12 months of hire if not already possessed.
Preferred Qualifications
* Bachelor's orMaster's degree highly preferred.
* Experience managing approx.100 people.
* FMP certification.
* Experience with work order management system and/or with quality control processes such as Total Quality Management, Continuous Improvement, Six Sigma, etc.
* Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
* Abilities in leadership, organization, management/supervision, planning and crisis management.
* Demonstrated ability to coordinate a wide variety of activities.
* Working knowledge of basic office equipment, specialized custodial equipment and housekeeping/custodial techniques.
* Ability to function in a result oriented environment while motivating employee performance.
* Ability to respond quickly to requests in a complex academic/health care environment.
* Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
* Demonstrated customer service skills.
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $54,288 - $70,553 annually.
