This position is full-time and works approximately 40 hours per week.

This position is in the Department of Pediatrics Hematology/Oncology. This position is for the Medical School Campus.
Essential Functions
Position assists with the technical aspects of studies and experiments including documentation and preparation of materials.
1. Assists with research studies, experiments and assays pertaining to ongoing projects in the Druley lab. Duties include preparation of DNA sequencing libraries, cell culture and set-up and maintenance of lab equipment.
2. Coordinates data transfer to collaborating analysts and maintains data files on research.
3. Follows established protocols for directed hematopoietic differentiation of human stem cells.
4. Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
5. Ensures lab conditions and equipment are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with established procedures.
6. Assists with general lab maintenance, supply ordering, safety certification and cleaning.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and up to 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting or equivalent combination of education and experience equaling 4 years required.
Preferred Qualifications
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and communicate with laboratory staff and investigators.
* Ability to maintain complete and organized records/reports.
* Working knowledge of standard computer software and general lab equipment.
Salary Range
The hiring range for this position is $13.79 - $18.62 per hour.

Applicant Special Instructions
Works in laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological or chemical hazards. Must be physically able to wear protective equipment and manipulate standard molecular biology tools (pipets, plasticware, etc).
